Kristaps Porzingis featured in odd Latvian credit card commercial

July 7 (UPI) -- New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis is featured in a Latvian credit card commercial, which includes dolphins, a dog and many awkward caresses.

The 30-second spot called "X karte!" for a new Visa card. It features the song "Oh Yeah" by Yello.

The X card ad begins with a hand shooting through the sky like a missile, with an infinitely long arm trailing behind. Next, the hand emulates jumping dolphins, swimming through the sea with actual dolphins. Then the hand strokes a car, pets a dog and rubs on some shoes.

Then things get really odd.

The next scene cuts to the hand taking a dunk in a glass full of what appears to be honey. The honey-soaked hand then swirls, spreading the substance through the air.

In the next scene, the hand pokes a Jell-O-like substance, making it giggle.

Porzingis enters the frame at the 20-second mark. The hand circles around the New York Knicks star before going up his jersey and wrapping around his head and stroking his hair. Porzingis stands expressionless.

The final scene says: "Jā? Jā! Tev Patīk," meaning "Yup? Yup! You like," according to Google translate.

Porzingis, 21, elevated his game during his sophomore NBA season. He averaged 18.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in 65 contests for the Knicks. But after the season he was mentioned in rumors for a possible trade.

"I think it was out there that [Knicks president] Phil [Jackson] was listening, but he wasn't out shopping KP," Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek told ESPN Sunday. "We love KP and what he does, so I don't see him going anywhere."

Porzingis drew criticism from Jackson after he skipped his exit meeting at the end of the season.

The Knicks fired Jackson on June 28.
