Anybody who has read my writing here at WOBM.com knows that I love dogs.

I've been fortunate to have some amazing dogs in my life, and thankfully they've been really well behaved.

With my first dog Sydney, you couldn't be blamed for not even knowing that she was there, she barked that rarely. And, while my pup Scooter can get a little, let's call it "talkative" at times, he knows when enough is enough.

But unfortunately, it isn't that peaceful for all dog owners and their neighbors.

That's why some towns in New Jersey are not only enacting, but also enforcing noise ordinances aimed at nuisance barkers.

The Asbury Park Press is reporting that Saddle River is putting a law on the books that could cost dog owners up to $1,000 in fines if their pet's barking gets out of hand.

And I can sympathize.

One of the residents of my street has a pair of dogs that both bark incessantly at everything (and I really do mean everything!).

While I roll my eyes whenever I walk past their place and the pair of pups are going on and on (and on, and on...), thankfully it's far enough away from my home that it doesn't disturb me when I'm inside.

But, man, would I hate to be their next door neighbor.

As much as I support dogs being dogs, I can definitely understand when enough is enough and something needs to be done about it.

So, what do you think?

Do you have dogs in your neighborhood who aren't exactly the peaceful types? If so, would you support a law that would impose fines on their owners?

Head over to our Facebook page and let us know what you think!
