The top 20 most popular dog names in the UK have been revealed - and they're just as cute as you'd imagine
Choosing the perfect name for a furry companion is an important decision for pet owners, and it appears that many in the UK are opting for names that mirror human trends.
Research analysing UK vet data has uncovered the most popular names for the nation’s favourite dog breeds, revealing a pattern of classic, friendly, and sometimes even majestic choices.
The managing director from My Name Tags, Lars B Andersen shared insights into the research, stating: "We’ve been monitoring baby name trends for over two decades, but until now we hadn’t explored pet names."
"Our research shows an interesting trend of human-like names topping the charts, including Jack, Daisy, and Rosie. This suggests that Brits are increasingly viewing their pets as family members," she continues.
Here are the most popular choices:
Labrador Retriever

With over a million Labradors in the UK, they remain the nation’s favourite breed.
Known for their good-natured and social temperament, it’s no surprise that Buddy tops the list for male Labradors. Other common names for the breed may be inspired by owners’ human friends, with Rosie, Molly, Lottie, and Archie also ranking highly.
Cocker Spaniel
