Apr. 21—NEW ALBANY — Host New Albany rallied from an early deficit for a 10-6 triumph over Bloomington South at Mount Tabor Field on Saturday.

The Panthers tallied four runs in the first frame and another in the second for a 5-0 lead. The Bulldogs, however, scored eight runs in the bottom of the second and two more in the third en route to victory.

Kadin Bush and Chase Loesch led New Albany at the plate. Bush went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs while touching home twice. Loesch was 3-for-3 for a double and three RBIs while scoring once.

Maxwell Alexander added a pair of RBIs while Braden Brewer touched home twice.

On the mound, Sean Rose picked up the victory. The junior allowed two earned runs on four hits while walking four and striking out three over 3 2/3 innings.

New Albany (7-5) is scheduled to host Class 4A No. 1 Center Grove (12-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

RED DEVILS RALLY PAST MUSTANGS

JEFFERSONVILLE — Jeffersonville scored seven unanswered runs en route to an 8-3 victory over visiting North Oldham (Ky.) on Saturday.

Ethan Durbin led the Red Devils (6-4) at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Caiden White and Ryan Crawford added two hits apiece while Jaret Phillips hit a three-run homer.

PIRATES BEST BLACKHAWKS

CHARLESTOWN — Host Charlestown downed Springs Valley 10-5 Saturday.

The two teams were tied at 2-all through 2 1/2 innings before the Pirates plated five runs in the bottom of the third. The Blackhawks got within 7-4 before Charlestown tacked on three more in the sixth.

Boomer Hester paced the Pirates (5-6) at the plate. The sophomore went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs. Nick Broady added three hits while Ethan French and Lucas Gillespie had two apiece.

Garrett Titzer picked up the win on the mound. The junior allowed five runs (two earned) on seven hits.

TECUMSEH BEATS BORDEN

BORDEN — Tecumseh tallied six times in the bottom of the first inning en route to a 13-5 win at Borden in a battle between Braves on Saturday.

Three of Borden's six hits went for extra bases.

Borden (6-6) is scheduled to host West Washington at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
