Vicky Pattison has told fans she believes 'everything happens for a reason' after her wedding planning drama hit the headlines. The former Geordie Shore star took to social media over the weekend to reveal her planned trip to Italy where she'll tie the knot this year was halted once at the airport.

Vicky, 36, had first taken to her Instagram account to share her excitement about seeing her dream wedding venue in Italy, saying she and her fiancé Ercan Ramadan, were set to join her wedding planner, assistant and florist for the trip to Italy when things took an unfortunate turn.

She found herself being turned away from the check-in desk and branded the airline involved the "destroyer of dreams" after she was altered to an issue that was in fact the fault of her beloved pet dog, Milo.

Alongside a selfie taken back in the car, Vicky revealed: "And I'm just heading home... to have a really good cry I think. All the wasted money, how hard it was for me to get the time off, how excited we were, how I've wasted everyone's time.. I'm just really sad I think."

With fans questioning why she was turned away from the flight, Vicky took a picture of her damaged passport and wrote: "This is what was wrong with my passport for everyone asking, in fairness, I don't know if that is really bad or not, I've just not had anyone ever tell me it was before.. cheeky little milo butt."

But she later saw the best of the best of situation as she laid in bed with Milo and fellow pet pooch Max. "So I know today didn't work out how we planned. And I'm sad about missing Italy and stuff..." the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here of winner started. "But I believe everything happens for a reason... and I was obviously just not meant to go.

Vicky shared what had happened on social media

"Or I was REALLY meant to get a new passport! I mean, imagine if they turned me away for me hen?? Or my wedding even?? Not worth thinking about. And you know, italy would have been brilliant but I wouldn't be snuggled up with my sons, watching Hercules and eating Haribos... And this is reality is pretty special too."

She then added: "Thankyou so much for all your lovely messages today. I reckon more than anything I was just knackered and shocked. But as always, your kind words really made me feel better. You're all unreal!"

Vicky made the most out of a bad situation

Ercan popped the question to Vicky back in February 2022 on a Dubai beach, over three years after they started dating having enjoyed one of their first dates in Vicky's home city of Newcastle at the end of 2018.

The husband and wife-to-be shared the news they were engaged as they holidayed in the UAE by sharing a snap from the romantic moment Ercan dropped to one knee and popped the question on Instagram. "I choose you and I'll choose you over and over without pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat... It'll always be you," Vicky typed alongside the post before adding: "To our forever @ercan_ram... "
