Rock Run Animal Rescue, PO Box 272 Newville, PA 17241

  • Mission: Rock Run offers life-long sanctuary to horses in need. Our horses have a myriad of health issues, typically those associated with the aging process. We utilize holistic care in conjunction with traditional veterinary care to make them comfortable and happy. These beautiful souls deserve retirement; they are no less valuable due to their health, their inability to be ridden, or requiring sanctuary and care. They still have so much to offer humanity.
  • Wishes: Hands down, our most pressing need is volunteers! Specifically, we are in need of a Fundraising Coordinator; volunteers for our Fundraising Committee; people to bake for bake sales; animal care (twice daily during the week as well as weekends); Public Relations and Marketing; social media; Website assistance; and Farm help (maintenance of fencing, equipment, and grounds). Horse experience is not required; we can teach you to care for horses safely. It takes a village to provide for the horses who call Rock Run, home. 2) Monetary donations enable us to continue to provide care. While ~$50,000 in yearly expenses is a large sum, EVERY donation adds up! A quality small square bale of hay is currently almost $7 each, and during the winter months, each horse can consume a bale a day (eating hay helps keep them warm in the winter). Yearly, we encounter large medical and feed expenses, in addition to hay costs. Gift cards are also wonderful! We purchase supplies from Amazon, Tractor Supply, Costco, Keith’s Farm and Dairy in Newville, and Knisely’s Feed in Carlisle. You can also sponsor an animal through our Compassion in Action sponsorship program. Information is on our website. We have a PayPal button on our website as well. 3) Assistance with Public Relations. We offer a new program, Kintsugi Equine Gestalt Coaching, to assist people facing challenges. Our focus is on trauma, helping folks navigate devastating effects of suicide, and restoring hope and direction in their lives. We partner with the horse for individual and group sessions, and we offer workshops throughout the year; we also offer Zoom and telephone coaching. This program will help many, many people and will change lives. We need assistance creating public awareness of Kintsugi Equine Gestalt Coaching.
