A crash on the turnpike closed the tolls in New Gloucester at mile 67 for nearly an hour Sunday.Maine state police said the driver told them he was headed home after a double shift at work and he fell asleep at the wheel. They said he drifted into a barrier, that separates traffic at the toll. He was taken to the hospital for injuries, but is expected to recover. State police said all lanes are open and crews with the turnpike will fix the barrier sometime this week. No other drivers were involved.
