SUCCESSFUL Celtic teams of the past used to famously frequent Seamill Hydro.

The Lisbon Lions and Co would decamp to the seaside for bonding and training camps.

It's a move that worked for numerous squads over the years - famously the 1967 European Cup winners.

Now the current crop seem to be channelling that same scenario as they chase this season's league title.

The heat is on in the Scottish Premiership and the Hoops currently command a four point lead over rivals Rangers entering the final five fixtures of the season.

Philippe Clement's side have a game in hand though and the nip and tuck title challenge looks set to go all the way.

Glasgow's pressure cooker is only going to intensify as the silverware edges closer in sight for both sides in an epic championship chase.

But Greg Taylor is the latest Hoops player spotted getting away from it all - and spending time with someone who knows all about title races.

Days after Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alastair Johnston were seen walking their dogs along the sand in Ayrshire, he headed for the shore too.

The Scotland international was pictured taking a scenic seaside stroll with international team-mate - and former Celtic pal - Ryan Christie.

The forward, now of Bournemouth in the Premier League, has been over the course of several title runs - landing two trebles in 2019 and 2020, as well as finishing runner up in the English Championship two years ago.

It's not an unknown situation for treble-winner Taylor either.

But he took full advantage to escape the goldfish bowl and post-split fixture release to relax with some sea air.

And just like his Hoops pals he had canine companionship as Christie launched tennis balls for his dog to chase on Troon beach.

Johnston had shared a picture of the north American duo and their dogs on a weekend walk with Liel Abada - himself now at FC Charlotte in North Carolina.

The Canadian took pet labrador Salem a stroll with Carter-Vickers and his fluffy prized chow-chow that the defender joked looks "like a lion, bro".

Escaping the city for seaside serenity is not a new pursuit for the Hoops.

Celtic squads from the 1960s through to the 1990s would head to West Kilbride for escapism, bonding and training by the beach.
